Friday, 24. August 2007, Washington, USA.

In the morning in front of the house of Angel and Ben. With dog Skylar and two cats trying to sleep in our bed the night before, it felt like home. It was so comfortable, we didn’t want to leave the house at all.

However we made a trip to Snoqualmie in the afternoon. That’s 28 miles to the east of Seattle.

Dozens of old steam locomotives near the town’s entrance.

Snoqualmie is an old lumber industry town.

The Snoqualmie Falls. David Lynch’s TV series “Twin Peaks” made them famous outside of America. Parts of the series were filmed here in Snoqualmie. That’s why we came here.

After an arson attack it was rebuilt completely different. Unfortunately nothing reminds of the RR…

Certainly we ordered the “original Twin Peaks Cherrypie”, which was supposed to be unbelievably delicious in the series…

… in reality it looked totally different than in the series and tasted like a deep-frozen gelatin pile. The coffee also wasn’t “damn good”, like Dale Cooper always said, but it was ok.

St-Pauli-Girl-Beer-Bottle-Seattle-Washington-USA-DSCN3596.jpg

On our way home we bought this St. Pauli Girl beer because of it’s remarkable appearance. You have to know that St. Pauli is the red light district quarter of the mariner city Hamburg near the north sea, northern Germany. The girl on the other hand wears a traditional bavarian costume from the most southern mountainous region of Germany, which is a completely different culture. It just doesn’t fit but surely works to promote a German beer in America. The label says imported, but you can’t buy this in Germany, we never saw the brand before. Tasted quite good.

Und so muss ein deutsches Importbier aussehen. Mit dem bayrischen Almmadl aus St. Pauli.

Back with Angel and Ben, who is a fantastic cook. He served a great and opulent Korean meal and we drank a lot. It was a marvellous and funny night.
