Today I got a mail from Skype telling me my credit balance of 20 Cent (was a gift) expires in 180 seven days, if I don’t make any calls or purchase something. Brash. If I’d want to use Skype for landline telephony, I have to buy a ‘SkypeIn’ real number for 5€ per month, so I can be reached by normal phones. In addition Skype charges a connection fee of 4.5 Cent (!) per call to a landline or mobile since January 18th. Horrendous prices in the VoIP age. At the moment I have a free landline number from Sipgate (from Düsseldorf), rates are cheaper partially and there is no connection fee. Do they want to bleed the existing customers before Skype goes down the drain?
