Tele 5 promises improvement – In current trailers German TV channel Tele 5 promises to kick out any call-in quiz shows, sex and ringtone commercials from their program. How commendable after years of unbearable advertising junk. Might not pay anymore. These phone-in quizzes unfortunately were invented in Germany in 2001, in the Netherlands they are forbidden by law.

…oder auch nicht. Die Filme, die ich in letzter Zeit nachts auf ‘Tele 5‘ aufnehme, sind schönerweise nur noch Randunterhaltung für tolle SMS-Werbung und gehen gleich in die digitale Tonne. Zum Kotzen! Fäkalsender. Unverschämterweise nennen sie diese Scheiße auch noch “Flirtkino”. Andere bringen aber auch Schönes: ‘Sat1‘, der niveauloseste KANAL Deutschlands, wiederholt Filme nachts sofort, also zweimal das selbe hintereinander, ‘Das Vierte‘ schert sich einen Dreck um sein angekündigtes Programm und zeigt in der letzten Werbeunterbrechung von Spielfilmen noch 30 Minuten Horoskop-Show, bevor die letzten 5 Minuten Film irgendwann kommen. Zum Glück lässt der Festplattenvideorekorder all den Mist wegschneiden und vergessen. Nur die nächtlichen ‘Tele 5‘-Klogriffe und abgeschnittene Filmenden macht die Wunderkiste nicht erträglicher. Da lobe ich mal ausdrücklich die öffentlich-rechtlichen Sender. Die zeigen oft sogar den Filmabspann! Meine Top 3: Arte, WDR, Phoenix.

“We love cinema” is the recent slogan of the German TV channel ‘Tele 5‘. When I see what my VCR records at night, they seem to hate cinema. The movie is shown on two thirds of the screen in the upper left corner, permanently surrounded by SMS chat ads. The faecal heads call it “flirt cinema”. One of the intellectually really undemanding channels is ‘Sat 1‘. They rebroadcast movies at once, show the same film in rotation. ‘Das Vierte‘ (=‘the fourth‘) entertains with a 30 minute horoscope show in the last commercial break of a movie, while you’re waiting to see the last five minutes of the film. Luckily my hard disk video recorder makes me cut and forget all that, except for this ‘Tele 5‘ crap and shortened movie endings. Here I have to praise the German public television. They often even show film credits! My Top 3: Arte, WDR, Phoenix.
